Modimolle’s national under-14 coach, Thabo Mojalefa Baloyi, was headed for Zambia ahead of the International Handball Federation tournament starting from Saturday 21 April to Sunday 29 April.

Baloyi, otherwise known as DJ Ghetto, has since been appointed the assistant coach for the nation’s under-18 squad, which together with the under-20 squad were scheduled to take part in the tournament in Zambia.

The training camp for both select teams takes place on Sunday 15 April in Johannesburg.

Players are expected to gather for camp and then take off from OR Tambo International Airport for Zambia on 20 April.

In the Waterberg District and Limpopo as a whole, Baloyi will be accompanied by Karabo Mogotsi from Rooiberg, who was selected as a player for the national squad under-18 boys team.

Countries that will be participating in the tournament include South Africa, the hosts Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Lesotho, Swaziland, Botswana, Mauritius, and Sychelles.

South Africa will be represented by only two teams, the under-18 and under-20 squads.

“It is really an honour to be chosen to take part in such a tournament, especially knowing that the whole country will be relying on my team to bring home the trophy. Mokgotsi is also honoured as the only player from Limpopo who will form the team of 16 players. We are not nervous at all since it is not our first time representing the country in contineltal tournaments,” Baloyi said.
