The fledgling Bela-Bela Academy has sent out an invitation to wannabe soccer stars to go for trials at Moloto Stadium on Saturday, 11 November.
Part of the strict requirements were that candidates should be studying at least one of the vernacular languages at school, namely Sepedi, Setswana and XiTsonga.
Applicants should be in Grades 8 to 11.
Although the academy was scheduled to be launched only at the begining of next year, the trials were being hosted as part of the build-up towards the grand launch.
The trials would target soccer players from the age categories of under-15, under-17 and under-19.
According to Sam Modise, founder of the academy, players were advised to bring along their IDs, own playing kit, and food.
The trials were to be conducted free of charge.
He said the challenge in terms of youngsters from outside Bela-Bela wishing to participate was that as much as the academy has acquired a house as accomodation, it was still looking for a sponsor for basiscs like bedding.
Any business or individual wishing to assist is advised to contact 072 025 0469, or go to the Facebook page Bela-Bela Academy, for more information.
