The Bela-Bela High School Under-15 soccer team has booked a place to represent the Waterberg at the provincial level of the Coca-Cola Copa Cup on Saturday, 5 August in Bakenberg.
Bela-Bela High School advanced after beating Raeleng High School 3-1 during the local elimination rounds.
The youngsters then proceeded to the cluster showdown, where the team won on walkover against Modimolle, Mmabatlane and Thabazimbi.
No reasons have yet been forthcoming as to why the other cluster schools failed to honour such an important fixture.
The latter three failed to honour their fixtures during the matches scheduled for Mabatlane.
In the provincial contest the boys from Bela-Bela would test their strength against their counterparts from Capricorn, Mopani, Vhembe and Sekhukhune.
“We are more than ready,” said the team’s coach Sam Modise. “We have been preparing for these games since February.”
The provincial winners advance to the national finals at a yet to be decided venue and date.
Provincial winners receive various prizes in recognition of their achievements.
