Reports of the imminent sale of the status of SAB Regional League campaigners, Bela-Bela’s popular Diesel n Dust FC has jarred nerves among players, technical staff and fans.

Club owner Pat Seema said he had not yet entered into formal negotiations with any takers, but that two potential buyers had shown interest.

What fuelled the anxiety was that Seema has disclosed that one of the buyers was from Mokopane and the other from Johannesburg, which effectively means the soccer outfit might relocate elsewhere in the Waterberg.

“Yes, there is someone interested from Mokopane and the other one from Gauteng,” he said.

Seema said he was not at liberty to reveal the asking price, as negotiations had not even started with anyone in particular.

He assured Diesel n Dust supporters he would continue to focus on the ladies soccer and netball teams, which were doing fairly well.

Pride of the Diesel n Dust family is wonder girl Grace Lechaba, who has since risen to play in the professional Brutal Fruit Netball League.
