The Waterberg’s Anellie Malega is the third girl to be called up to the Under-20 national volleyball team, joining Mokgadi Sejaphala from Mopani District and Tshepiso Makwembile, also from the Waterberg.
The tour will take place over two weeks, during which time the players will be able to experience the game from a new perspective. The tour group will be leaving for China in Mid-June.
The tour is being organized as part of the preparations for the African Cup of Nations, which will take place in Zimbabwe.
The players’ coach said this is an excellent opportunity for his team.
“This has proven that our team has improved so much over the past years,” he said.
Currently, teams are in heated preparations for the VSA Interprovincial Tournament in Bloemfontein, which will take place between 17 and 22 July, and the Tubby Cup, which will take place in Durban between 13 and 19 August.
