Modimolle’s Hector Peterson Primary School educator, Ramadimetja Monama, has taken her school to higher levels, following her achievement at the Foundation Phase Provincial Competitions 2017.
The competition was recently held by the Limpopo Department of Education in Polokwane.
Monama obtained position one in the category of Educator’s Portfolio File, bringing home a certificate, trophy and a laptop among her prizes.
She said this achievement would not only motivate her in isolation, but would also inspire fellow educators.
“I am confident that at the next awards, we will sweep the boards. Both teachers and learners are motivated at our school,” she said.
The principal at the school, M R Mahapa, said they were delighted with the achievement of one of their own.
Mahapa said they reiterated that the attainment had the potential to boost the morale of other educators to work even harder.
She applauded Monama for representing the Nylstroom circuit and Waterberg district at the provincial contest.
“We are hoping that all educators and learners will be motivated by this achievement. It will certainly contribute towards day to day learning and teaching at our school,” she said.
The Department of Basic Education continues to acknowledge the hard work and dedication shown by educators across the country, through various competitions including the National Teachers Awards (NTA).
