Eight players from Bela-Bela’s Kamplits Volleyball Club stand a fighting chance of being flighted on national television.
The eight are namely Phillip Phasha, Tebogo Maenetja, Frans Lefawana, Medupi Mapharumela, Shai Raphapha, Jonas Mothobi, Gontse Mothobi and Phindi Issa.
Volleyball SA general-secretary, Mike Makhubela, also team manager at the Kamplits Volleyball Club, said in a live radio interview that Supersport 3 would flight several of the inter-provincial matches, starting on Friday, 2 March, at the University of KwaZulu- Natal.
“The league will have all nine provinces taking part,” he said.
Makhubela said the games would be played both indoors and outdoors.
On Friday 2 March there will be 12 games played, six games on Saturday, 3 March, and three were scheduled for Sunday 4 March.
He has indicated the matches would be played on a round-robin method, until the finalists emerged, for the ultimate tournament on Saturday, 24 March.
Bela-Bela’s Kamplits coach Levy Thantsha was optomistic the Limpopo team had the potential to compete well.
