The spokesperson for the Waterberg Advanced Paramedics Assistance (APA) initiative, Andy Gill, said the first accident, an alleged head-on collision, occurred during the late hours of Wednesday, 7 February.
“APA was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on the Thabazimbi Road just past Hoërskool Warmbad. On arrival we found two patients with serious to critical injuries,” he said.
He said attempts to resuscitate one of the injured passengers were unsuccessful.
“Our paramedics attempted to resuscitate one of the patients, but were unfortunately unsuccessful. The other patient was stabilized on the scene and transported to a hospital in the area,” Gill said.
The following day, Thurday, 8 February, Gill said his team rushed to another accident near Modimolle.
“We dispatched a team to a motor vehicle accident on the N1 North about 10km past Kranskop Tollgate.
On arrival we found the vehicles had collided head-on,” he said.
Gill said the accident resulted in two casualties, with other passengers sustaining minor to serious injuries.
