The Modimolle-Mookgophong Local Municipality and the neighbouring Bela-Bela Local municipality have committed to move with urgency to fill up vacant posts for senior managers.
The Modimolle-Mookgophong Local Municipality has placed advertisements inviting potential candidates to send in applications.
The merged municipality has advertised vacant posts for the positions of municipal manager, chief financial officer, as well as managers for technical and social services.
Applications close on Friday, 26 January.
Modimolle-Mookgophong Mayor Marlene van Staden advised potential candidates to be mindful of the closing date on Friday.
At Bela-Bela the vacant posts included that of the municipal manager, chief financial officer, and managers for social and community services, as well as corporate services.
Conspicuous in his absence was outgoing municipal manager, Morris Maluleka, who has reportedly relocated in the Madibeng Local Municipality at the North West town of Brits.
Bela-Bela Mayor, Jeremiah Ngobeni, said in his address during the 2018/2019 IDP meeting that the municipality planned to attend to all outstanding issues and projects within the municipality.
He committed the council to fast-track service delivery.
Among the issues he thrashed out during a meeting at the Multi Centre was the question of the filling up of vacant posts.
The meeting was held on Friday, 17 November 2017.
Municipal spokesperson, Kabelo Mosito, said short-listings and interviews for the posts had already been conducted, and the local authorities were awaiting the way forward from the Office of the MEC for CoGHSTA, Jerry Ndou.
