Round-the-clock detective work has culminated in the arrest of four farmworkers who allegedly broke into a farmhouse in Tom Burke near Lephalale.
The four accused were tracked down to Phagameng in Modimolle.
Provincial police spokesman, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, told The BEAT the break-ins coccured in July, at the farm Speculatie, while the owner was not at home.
Mojapelo said that police managed to recover an allegedly stolen Isuzu bakkie, during the initial stages of investigations.
Four plasma TV sets were also recovered.
Mojapelo said the alleged houserobbers allegedly used grinders to open a safe, from which an undisclosed amount of cash, US dollars, and firearms were stolen.
“Police recieved a statement where four men, between the ages of 20 and 50, were traced to a house in Phagameng. We also recovered weapons in their possession at the time of the arrest.” Mojapelo said.
The four are expected to appear in court at Tom Burke in due course.
