The provincial department of health reported that an ambulance had been stolen on the morning of Friday, 7 July.
According to provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo, the state-owned vehicle was stolen from the George Masebe Hospital in Mokopane.
Mojapelo said it was believed suspects cut open a section of the hospital’s perimeter fencing to commit the crime.
“According to the information received, the vehicle was used to transport patients and was thereafter parked in the garage at the said hospital. The alleged theft was discovered by employees of the hospital and reported to police,” added Mojapelo.
Mojapelo has since provided the ambulance’s vehicle registration number.
“The vehicle’s registration numbers are GHH 367 L, and police have appealed to anyone with information that can assist in this investigation, to contact the nearest police or call our 24-hour toll free number at 0860010111,” he added
